Nursery Thoughts

Although I am extremely excited about becoming a Mom, and I have fully educated my sphere-of- influence on all things adoption, I have been reluctant to make any significant purchases for the nursery.  I mean, I have a vision and all but that's the extent of it!  Until NOW!

I wanted something calm and relaxing.  A place where both the baby and I could feel peaceful.  I have spent hours online searching
for the highest quality products, the safest options and the most eco-friendly while still being economically friendly.
I chose bamboo and it is just beautiful.  I had anticipated hiring someone to lay it but my fabulous MOM installed it herself.

So step one has been completed.  Here's a picture of the finished project, and of my mom installing them.  She will probably not be happy of the butt shot!  LOL.  Sorry MOM.

I am gonna try for a better shot once I start putting some stuff in it.

  1. Way to go Mom!!!!!! Looks great! I can already visualize a pretty nursery! We mailed off the I-600A today & have began on our application. Going to do Pass Ports after Daniel's nap :) Now we're moving along!

  2. What a mom!!! I love the floor. Nice choice with Bamboo... I have heard wonderful things about it.

  3. Love, love, love the floor!

What an awesome mom! Baby is going to be very lucking in the mommy, grandma department!

  4. Me again! Saw your post! Thanks for the words on the nursery. I know what you mean on being reluntant. I have been using it as a way to pass the "wait" time!

Myself and another family are waiting for registration in our region for Russia. We are hoping for that this week. From there -- who knows! I hope for a quick referral turnaround. They've had our documents for a bit now - so hopefully they've been "mulling" us over and getting ready!

BTW -- I LOVE, love, love the pics you have been posting from your childhood. I have one that I may have to post in your honor. I think our mothers had the same cameras!!

  5. Ooh - I love it! Your mom rocks!!!

  6. Robbin the floor is beautiful. Your mom deserves a gold medal for that. I put flooring in my office and it wasn't as easy as it looked. Go mom!

  7. Aren't Moms wonderful! The floor is gorgeous. I would decorate away. We had Gracie's nursery complete in Sept. and we didn't get our referral til Feb. I used to love going in there and just daydreaming.

  8. I love your sense of humor. You are going to be one fun mommy. Lucky baby! Oh - the floor is gorgeous!

  9. The floor is GORGEOUS. It is wonderful your mom did that for you! I look forward to reading more of your blog and want to add you to my blogroll if that is okay? If it is not, let me know and I will remove it.

    Best wishes to you!
